Steve Pickett joined Canterbury in 1990 as a prop forward.

After only playing in the first half of the 1990 season, Steve became a regular member of the reserve grade team in 1991.

In 1992, Steve received the opportunity to play first grade against Balmain as a replacement. He was a regular member of the reserve grade team.
