Gary Sullivan joined Canterbury in 1977 as a goal kicking winger.
Gary was a regular member of the Under 23 team and moved to halfback in time for the play-offs.
In 1978, Gary started the season as halfback in the Under 23s and became captain. In the second half of the season Gary was promoted to reserve grade as a winger.
In 1979, Gary became a regular member of the reserve grade team and received the opportunity in first grade against Newtown as a replacement. He played fullback in the reserve grade Grand Final against Parramatta.
In 1980, Gary continued in reserve grade playing in the Premiership winning team against Parramatta, playing on the wing.
After starting the 1981 in reserve grade, Gary finished the season in the Under 23s before joining Wester Suburbs in 1982.
Gary passed away in late 2005.
